2020.10.23 22:43 gimmiefuelgimmiefire It's 1990, Season 8 Never Happened. What Has Happened to the Characters Since Till the Next Goodbye.

Here is my take.
Hyde- After catching Jackie with Kelso in the hotel room, Jackie caught up with him later and poured her heart out to Hyde. Hyde though still a little insecure, knew Jackie loved her. They agree to get married (but take things slow) and move to Chicago. Hyde sold his franchise of the record store for him and Jackie to have some savings. Though Jackie is making six figures, Hyde felt board being a stay at home husband, so he called up William and told him about a great investment idea.
Hyde with William as an investor opens up a rock venue/bar called "Hyde's" in Chicago. The bar hosts all ages shows (though most of the patrons wash the X on their hands off in the bathroom), hosts a mix of Blues, Punk and Metal bands. Both unsigned and famous musicians have played there. The circle has kind of become a hangout for many trouble youth who are also musicians that Hyde has become a father figure to. Though he works in the music industry and still wears band t-shirts all day, he can be a hard ass at times. He has on occasion threatened to put a foot in someone's ass.
Jackie- Jackie is loving life, working in local TV and being married to Hyde. With their combined incomes they aren't rich but firmly upper middle class. She probably blows half of it on clothes. She's madly in love with Hyde. At times she wants kids but Hyde is happy just being a childfree married couple. It's a good compromise for now. Maybe things will change, maybe they wont.
Eric- After returning from Africa, Eric and Donna picked up where they left off, though Eric matured abit. Still in love, they knew they didn't need to get married right away so they both wanted to finish college first. Eric graduated college in 1984 and having seen both Empire and Jedi numerous times, still quotes Star Wars but has a trilogy of material now. He was really shocked to find out Leia was Luke's sister.
In the mid 80s him and Donna eventually got married. Donna works in broadcasting and radio, Eric does accounting for the radio station. They have two kids, a boy and a girl. The boy turned out to be athletic and has on occasion also threatened to put his foot in someone's ass.
Donna- Still in love with Eric. She has a great job as a radio DJ in Madison. She still loves discovering new music. Her and Eric and Jackie and Hyde still meet up a few times a year.
Kelso- Moved to Chicago to be closer to Brooke and his daughter. The gang kind of grew apart from him over the years. Seems to have mellowed out, works a normal 9 to 5. Every know and then Hyde runs into him.
Fez- Disappeared for a while. Eventually became a citizen, he got a job as a Spanish teacher in California.
Red and Kitty- Still going strong. They have become emptynesters. Red still runs his mufflehot rod shop. As the pro street scene took off in the 80s, the shop grew. He had to hire more help. By the early 90s, Red is looking to sell but not ready to pull the trigger. Him and Kitty do want to retire to Florida or Arizona.
In circa 1989, the 454 on Hyde's El Camino gave out. Hyde and Red tore it down, had it machined into a supercharged 496 big block Chevy. Hyde know drag races as a hobby in Chicagoland. Him and Red attend the Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin, IL.
Red also acquired a 1963 Corvette Split Window that will eventually be worth six figures. He still hates Bob.
A few times a year usually during Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. Eric and Donna, Hyde and Jackie, Bob and Midge (who reconciled again) all meet at Red and Kitty's for family reunions. They talk about the good times.
What do you think happened to everyone?

2020.10.21 06:48 _roldie What do you think happened to the gang in the 80s and afterwards?

Here's what i think what happens to the gang after the show ends:
Fez moves to California in the early 80s after realizing that there's nothing left for him in Wisconsin anymore. He moves to San Francisco but no one ever hears from him or about him ever again after he makes the move. Most think he ended up going back to his country.
Eric splits up with donna in the mid 80s or so. People change and most people don't marry their high school sweethearts anyway. Eric moves out to Kenosha or Madison and takes up a job as a high school teacher and meets a girl better suited for him and they raise a family together .
After splitting up with Eric, Donna moves out to Chicago and gets a job at a record company and gets a boring desk work job. She ends up some marrying some local radio DJ and they never have children.
Michael and Jackie end up getting back together in the late 80s and move out to a New York City suburb, most likely in Staten Island. Kelso stops being so much of a dumb ass but ends up doing tedious work for a living like driving a forklift for the rest of his life. Jackie too does regular people work for the rest of her life and they end up raising two children together.
Hyde stays in point place and ends up becoming an auto mechanic. Ends up becoming another Red when he gets older.

2020.10.20 00:15 lightsinthecl0uds IIL period dramas with the romantic dynamics of Enola Holmes, Anne with an E, WEWIL?

I don't really know how to describe it beyond it being 'fierce headstrong girl x emotional romantic boy': like, she can fight and takes the lead and he writes poetry and knows a lot about nature. Not fully inverted gender roles but something like that. Enola Holmes is the textbook example... Anne with an E at a stretch, maybe? I can think of a couple of modern examples (Eric and Donna from That 70s Show) but I think the theme is a lot better when it's a deviation from the norm, so I'm looking for period dramas/historical novels, especially Victorian or thereabouts (or set in modern countries with strict gender roles)
Kind of niche, I know. Any medium!
edit: also like Little Women! Non-romantic dynamics like this are cool too

2020.10.18 18:27 NYRangers1313 Good and Underrated Things About Season 6.

I'm watching Season 6 right now and this is always were I felt That 70s Shows decline began. I think most people consider Season 5 to be in their top 3 (it's my second favorite season behind 3 and just ahead of 2). 5 did begin to have some problems such as Kelso and Fez becoming flanderized and Kitty becoming a little Flanderized. However, it had two great plots lines (Senior Year of High School and Jackie & Hyde's relationship). As well as plenty of funny moments and humor.
Season 6 has even more flanderization, Eric and Donna begin to annoy me a little and Kitty becomes a full blown Alcoholic.
That being said I still really enjoy season 6. Two of the things that stood out for me are Jackie's character growth and Hyde and Red's relationship.
Jackie really becomes part of the group in this season and while she still has her some of her old snobby and stuckup ways, she stars maturing a lot and becomes more down to Earth. She also starts stealing a ton of scenes she's in, usually the more serious scenes. I think a lot of that has to do with that Mila Kunis is probably the best actor on the show just that she was kind of a secondary character for a while, it was harder to notice. She did have the biggest career of all the cast members.
Of course Jackie and Hyde's relationship is at it's peak this season. Jackie becomes more down to earth and Hyde begins to open up and trust more. They both grow a ton.
The other thing I loved is Red and Hyde's surrogate father and son relationship really grows. In my head, I remembered it happening much sooner in the show (last watch was circa 2012). There were hints of it in late Season 2 and early Season 3 (when Bud shows up and Red is really concerned for Steven and thinks it's a bad idea for Hyde to move in with him) but then the idea is kind of dropped after Hyde does move in and Hyde is just viewed by Red as one of Eric's friends for a while.
Even after Hyde moves back in with the Foremans, he's still just kind of viewed as "Eric's friend." (Though Hyde and Kitty had a great relationship from Season 2 until 5 or so when she began to become Flanderized).
That being said, in Season 6. Hyde and Red really become surrogate father and son. The Pam Burkhart episode is one of my all time favorites. For years I always use to say "Toyota" like Red everytime one of my friends had a Toyota that we would pile in.
Anyway, these were some things I loved about Season 6. To me 1-5 are the golden years. 6 and 7 are both very good but not as good.

2020.10.15 13:26 iamlaughing_ That 70’s Show: Hyde and Jackie had a toxic relationship.

It’s hard for many people to accept that considering they are the best couple of the show, but if you pay attention on their relationship, you will see Hyde was a big big big ass most of the time, everything that was important for Jackie is seen as superficial or ridiculous for him and the rest of the gang, yea, I have to agree sometimes her behavior was silly, but this is the humor of her character and when she started dating Hyde, she changed in many things for him, and he just could not do the same, most of the time she was only seeking for more attention or romance in the relationship. A scene to understand how she was feeling is when she has to choose between Kelso and Hyde and she tells Donna she knows she needs Hyde but Kelso needs her and it’s good to feel necessary, this is pretty sad the fact she knows she doesn’t make any difference in Hyde’s life and I am not saying Kelso was good for her but at least he gave her attention and cared about the things that were important for her. In the end, Hyde could not even say they would marry ONE DAY (She only wanted a hope of a future with him) after everything they went through, and you should consider those were the 70’s and people got married young, the example is Eric and Donna, even if they did not marry, Jackie had to watch all the preparations for their wedding, she was supportive, even helping Eric to pay for Donna’s engagement ring, while she knew it probably would never happen to her while she was with Hyde, what was confirmed.

2020.10.08 01:29 Coolcause Something kind of annoying (spoilers for season 6/7-9)

Is it just me who thinks Eric should've faced more consequences for leaving Donna at the altar? All that happened was Bob beat him with a paddle a little and red was annoyed. Donna just immediately forgave him, and he didn't apologise until over a year later in the show and even then it was indirectly. This is the only problem I have with the story of That 70s show

2020.10.06 20:34 StrawberryLover8 First Time Binging My Opinion p1

So I just started binging Boy Meets World and here are my two cents about it (imma just do seasons and characters lol)
Seasons( I've only seen the first 5)
S1- while I found 1 kinda boring the kids were adorable!! Little Cory and Topanga were my favorites plus Little Shawn and Eric and OG Morgan lol. I really like the episode Teacher's Bet
S2 - honestly same as one but I do wish we got more Cory and wendy though
S3- the rise of Corpanga. Cory and Topanga's early relationship was really cute to me but they kinda go boring I preferred watching Eric try to get into college and Shawn's dynamic with Turner and Eli.
S4 - so far s4 is my favorite mostly because of the growth in Shawn and Eric. Eric being able to figure out what he was going to do with himself after getting rejected from college and the fear and anxiety he had was just ugh I loved it. And Shawn was basically on a journey to find himself in the midst of Cory and Topanga being so lovey dovey and wanting that feeling but being scared, and he relationship with Turner and his parents coming back tons of growth and emotional moments!! I'll never forget Chicks Like Me and Cult Fiction
S5- my favorite part of this season so far is definitely Shawn!!! I just love his growth thus far. And I really like him and Angela together. Along with the reason why he's so attached to Cory and Topanga's relationship. I really love episodes like I Love Donna Karran, Chasing Angela, Heartbreak Cory and And Then There Was Shawn. I'll go into more depth about Shawn later on lol
Part 2 is my opinion on characters thus far

2020.10.02 00:29 teachergirl1981 Need help with a scene

In Eric's Panties, when Donna is imagining panties flying in her face from his dresser and closet...I know it's spoofing a scene in a horror movie right down to the music. I want to say it's either The Shining or The Amityville Horror. It might be neither.
Does anyone know?

2020.09.25 21:56 anne474 Story time!

I have been working 11 hour days and I’m exhausted. Thankful, gratefully, exhausted. I thought to myself, today is Friday. I’ll treat myself to Chick Fil A.
(Background story: I’ve been diagnosed with endo and severe IBS-D since early 2018. I cannot eat anything without pain. Literally. Everything goes right through me.)
ANYWHO, knowing that said things would go right through me, I might as well eat what I want, whatever sounds good. I couldn’t help myself but get a spicy sandwich, fries and a frosted coffee. Oh the Glorious frosted coffee. I woofed down my delicious sandwich... queue my stomach. My manager walks in; all hell breaks loose. I’m squeezing, pretty sure I’m going to ruin my chair at this point. The tiniest little squeaks... (For those who’ve seen that 70’s show where Donna and Eric give the gang chocolate lax? Yes. This is my daily occurrence. Multiple times a day.). I RUN out the door as fast as I can, squeezing butt cheeks as tight and possible without muscle spasming and BARELY make it to the toilet that I am currently sitting on, contemplating on how I’m going to divorce my entire reproductive and digestive system since clearly they are trying to kill me, as well as others who dare enter my personal bubble.
Thank you for reading my story and sharing my humiliation. 💩

2020.09.20 22:25 teachergirl1981 I am not crazy.

Eric is in his living room and Donna comes in with a dress on. The song Brick House plays.
I know this scene existed. I can’t even find it without the music.
I feel like it was cut from the prom episode.

I was hoping to find people who have this book/are familiar with the archetypes, because I'd like to discuss what some popular character archetypes are. Hoping to get a little discussion going...below I have posted some popular shows/characters.
Below are the main arche-type names. You need the book for the descriptions. Each one has multiple iterations.
Male: Chief, bad boy, lost soul, charmer, swashbuckler, professor, best friend, warrior
Female: Boss, Free spirit, seductress, librarian, waif, crusader, spunky kid, nurturer
--Possible discussions (if anyone is interested and has the book/knows the arche-types):

That 70's show main characters (Donna, Jackie, Hyde, Fez, Kelso, Eric)
